CIRRUS AIRCRAFT ANNOUNCES Xi INDIVIDUALIZATION PROGRAM

Monday, 27 July 2009 01:58 by Cirrus Aircraft

Today Cirrus Aircraft announced an innovative and industry-first aircraft personalization program that gives customers the opportunity to truly make their new Cirrus his or her own. The first customer airplane to go through the new Xi program, SR22 N565SR, made its debut at EAA Airventure Oshkosh 2009.

Cirrus Aircraft Vice President of Marketing, Todd Simmons, commented on the new offering. “Many of our customers have asked us for a way to personalize and individualize their new aircraft even beyond the premium packages currently available. We have answered that desire with Xi.” Simmons continued, “Customers can now work directly with our most senior designers to create an airplane as unique and individual as they are. Both the finished product and the experience of being involved with Cirrus staff in the airplane’s completion make the Xi program very unique and special.”

Aircraft features and items that a customer can individualize within the Xi program include:

  • Unique exterior paint and graphics schemes selected from either predetermined options or newly developed ones, including new wing painting options currently under development.
  • Unique seat pattern styles from either predetermined options or completely new designs including choice of materials, stitching color and stitching pattern. Also included are choices for embroidered or embossed logos and personalized customer logos if requested.
  • Choice of instrument panel finishes including carbon fiber, brushed aluminum, wood burl, sterling, arctic white, piano black and more.
  • Choice of chrome, brushed aluminum and jet black interior trim finishes and bezels.
  • Unique and personalized Xi badges by Cirrus Aircraft.
  • And more program components to be announced.

Multiple Cirrus owner Gary Turchin – and owner of the first Cirrus to get the Xi treatment - commented, “Xi was the reason I bought a new airplane. My favorite part of the process was the experience of being involved directly with Mike Van Staagen and the rest of the Cirrus folks in designing those key features and details thatare important to me. The airplane is simply gorgeous and I am absolutely in love with it!”
