Cirrus Aircraft today announced that Avidyne's Entegra Release 9 integrated flight deck system is now available from Cirrus as an option on selected new SR20 and SR22 aircraft. 

"Cirrus and Avidyne launched the glass flight deck revolution back in 2003. Today, we are making Entegra Release 9 available as a post production option on new aircraft to meet the needs of those customers desiring the next generation Avidyne avionics platform," said Cirrus CEO, Brent Wouters.

"Cirrus has consistently been the industry leader in bringing safety-enhancing innovations to general aviation-from the parachute to the first all-glass flight deck for GA-and we are excited to have our Entegra Release 9 system added as a factory option at Cirrus," said Avidyne President Dan Schwinn. Two exciting new standard features are now available with the Cirrus Perspective by Garmin™ avionics suite; the AOPA Directory and automatic database synchronization.

The AOPA Directory allows an owner access to useful airport information (primarily in the U.S.) that includes:

This allows for a download of the databases on only one card, and for future versions to be downloaded before the effective date. The system will then automatically update when a new database becomes effective, eliminating the hassle of updating while in a middle of a trip.

Today Cirrus Aircraft announced that it has renewed its partnership with Fly Right Films for the production and distribution of its second and forthcoming training film, Decision Making with Dick Rutan: Volume Two of the Aviator Series. As in the first installment in the Aviator Series, Attitude Flying , this second film will again be hosted by Charlie Hewitt and feature the legendary pilot and aviator Dick Rutan sharing his lifetime of flying experience and practical aviation wisdom in the "entertainment" format that made Volume One so successful.

In increasing its sponsorship commitment to Fly Right Films, Cirrus Aircraft has provided Fly Right Films an all new TURBO piston airplane with the Cirrus Perspective by Garmin™ integrated flight deck for the aircraft platform for the film. This plane is full-featured with the very latest optional equipment including the Cirrus Enhanced Vision System (EVS infrared camera by Max-Viz). Decision Making with Dick Rutan: Volume Two of the Aviator Series will be shot and produced in full HD and available on Blu-ray.  Todd Simmons, Cirrus Aircraft Vice President of Marketing, noted the importance of the growing Aviator Series line of films to the Cirrus community and to all pilots.
