"TICKET TO TAMPA" WINNER ENJOYED VISIT TO AOPA AND FIRST CIRRUS FLIGHT

Tuesday, 17 November 2009 06:37 by Cirrus Aircraft

New private pilot, Doug Lins, was Cirrus' "Ticket to Tampa" promotion winner, earning a trip to the AOPA Aviation Summit in November.  Doug enjoyed his first flight in a Cirrus with one of his four children, Danny.

Yesterday’s flight was incredible!  First of all, the weather couldn’t have been better. Also, it was the first opportunity that I’ve had to take my son up in a small plane – he loved it!  And the plane itself, well it goes without saying that it is an incredible piece of equipment.  I’m sure, given that we only had an hour-or-so, Bill and I only touched on a fraction of the plane’s capabilities – there’s no other way to say it than that Cirrus has hit the mark on a number of features that make flying easier and more enjoyable.  I’m already a little spoiled for a low-time pilot, being trained in a late-model well equipped Diamond.  Now, after the Cirrus ride, I’m definitely spoiled.

Doug and his wife, Katie, thoroughly enjoyed their trip to the AOPA Summit in Tampa, saying, "we had a wonderful time and will be back."

Doug, Cirrus wishes you the very best as you continue your flying career.  Congratulations!

"The Places You Can Go in a Cirrus SR22"

Tuesday, 27 October 2009 07:45 by Cirrus Aircraft

Cirrus owners, Laurence Balter and his lovely family, live the Flying 2.0TM dream!  See the video Laurence created to capture some of the places he has been in his Cirrus SR22.

See more Cirrus Stories here.

As a point of disclaimer, Mr. Balter lived in Hawaii and used his Cirrus to fly between the islands.  Flying over the ocean requires special planning, a high level of skill, and auxiliary fuel tanks, among other special provisions.

NO PLANE NO GAIN

Monday, 19 October 2009 08:40 by Cirrus Aircraft

Cirrus Aircraft is pleased to partner with NBAA on the Light Business Airplane Conference, to be held October 21-22, 2009, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.  This conference is designed for operators of light business airplanes, like the Cirrus SR20, SR22, and TURBO.  The Light Business Airplane Conference will feature more than 25 Education Sessions that will help you use your general aviation airplane for business - more efficiently, safely and cost effectively.

One highlight of this show is the Single-Pilot Safety Standdown, which is open to all who fly general aviation airplanes for business.  At the Safety Standdown, pilots of light business airplanes will participate in timely discussions on important safety topics such as fatigue countermeasures, airmanship, cockpit, resource management (for single-pilot operations), pilot health, icing and more.

To learn more about NBAA's important campaign in support of business aviation, visit their site:

Pilots and Paws

Tuesday, 13 October 2009 05:10 by Cirrus Aircraft

Here’s another example of how general aviation is helping business, and charity organizations, make the world a little better. Scott Gross, Cirrus owner and pilot, has found diverse benefits with his Cirrus:

I am in the real estate business and also an investor in charge of our family limited partnership. Our Cirrus is used to visit presently owned sites as well as a tool for checking out new opportunities near or far from our Ohio base operations. We have also been fortunate to add pleasure flying to our busy business use with college shopping on some of these trips and going to other family functions, but that’s not all we use our Cirrus for.

The PILOT and PAWS rescue group has been instrumental in helping move animals, pets and adoptables around the country whether the need be for rescues, overnight foster care or shelter. The benefits of air transport over ground transport often means the difference between life and death for thousands of dogs and cats. And this is all done through the work of our unselfish and unpaid volunteers. Being an animal lover doesn't hurt either.

For move details or information go to our website www.pilotsnpaws.org or please feel free to call me at 330-865-5600 (Ohio time) between the hours of 8am and 5pm.
Scott Gross

"GA Serves America: Flying the friendly skies"

Monday, 12 October 2009 02:55 by Cirrus Aircraft

In an article in AOPA Pilot and AOPA Online, writer Ian Twombly, promotes General Aviation as a smart travel option for businesses of all sizes.  Unlike the negative press cast upon corporate giants using private jet travel, piston aircraft serve a wide range of travel needs at a significantly reduced cost when compared to turbine aircraft in many situations.

Cirrus owner Brad Pierce wholeheartedly agrees, stating, "The Cirrus has truly changed my life.  It’s expanded the business, allowed me to get to see more customers, but most of all I don’t have to choose between personal and business."

Cirrus calls Brad's lifestyle Flying 2.0!  Read the full article here.
